A Mississippi man has been locked up after allegedly attacking a realtor during an open house.
According to an announcement by the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department, Jerry Glynn Dennis was taken into custody after an investigation showed he sexually assaulted and robbed a realtor in Pearl.
Law enforcement said they were called to a residence on Cedar Ridge Boulevard in Pearl. Upon arrival, responding deputies met with the victim who stated that she was a realtor getting ready for an open house event at the location.
The victim, whose name is not being released, said that once she entered the home, Dennis came inside and acted like he was interested in purchasing the home. He then brandished a handgun at which point a struggle began between him and the victim. When the victim bit him on the arm, Dennis struck her on the head with the firearm.
According to law enforcement, the victim was then forced by Dennis to undress and was sexually assaulted. After the assault, Dennis told the victim not to tell anyone before stealing the keys to her vehicle and a cellular device.
Investigators later arrested Dennis at another residence in Rankin County. He is charged with two counts of sexual battery, kidnapping, and armed robbery. His bond was set at $950,000.
