A $10,000 reward is being offered for information that could lead authorities to identify anyone behind the shooting death of Ole Miss football player Corey Adams.
The 18-year-old was one of five people struck by gunfire outside of a home in the Memphis suburb of Cordova on July 19, though he was the only fatality. Adams, after having life-saving measures performed on him, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Shelby County Chief Deputy Anthony Buckner reported that Adams, along with more than 100 people, was at a pool party at the Fern Gland Cove residence. When investigators assessed the scene, they found more than 40 rifle and pistol shell casings. But since then, no arrests have been announced in connection with the violent outbreak.
To aid in the investigation, officials asked homeowners of homes surrounding the crime scene to send any video footage they may have from the fatal incident to police. Additionally, officials are asking the partygoers to provide information about the shooting. Authorities hope the monetary reward will incentivize those with relevant details to come forward.
