One person is dead and a suspect is in custody after a shooting at Ingalls Shipbuilding on Friday morning.
Officials with the Pascagoula Police Department said gunfire rang out at the shipyard at 7:32 a.m. Ingalls alerted all employees to sheltered in place due to an active shooter situation.
Around 9 a.m., police identified 25-year-old Curtis James, Jr., of Mobile, Ala., and took him into custody. The victim’s identity is being withheld until family members are notified.
