Mississippi was well-represented on the latest SEC players of the week list. A Magnolia State native who took his talents one state over and a North Carolina transplant competing for one of Mississippi’s universities were recognized by the conference for their efforts this past weekend.
Alabama’s Bray Hubbard, an Ocean Springs native, was highlighted as the SEC’s co-defensive player of the week after logging five tackles and two interceptions in the Crimson Tide’s 38-14 win over Wisconsin. In coverage, the defensive back allowed just one catch on five targets, earning a 92.0 overall grade from Pro Football Focus. Hubbard was also a major contributor to a defense that only allowed one offensive score and 209 yards of total offense. He shared the weekly honor with LSU’s Dashawn Spears.
