The eighth annual Hattiesburg Restaurant Week will be held Oct. 5–11, with more than 30 local eateries joining the celebration under this year’s “Sugar Rush” theme.
Restaurants across the city will feature exclusive dishes that incorporate sweet elements into small plates, main courses, drinks, and desserts. Organizers say the event highlights Hattiesburg’s vibrant food scene and provides an economic boost for the community.
“Hattiesburg Restaurant Week has truly become a can’t-miss celebration for food lovers, and this year’s sweet theme is already creating plenty of excitement,” said Kristen Brock, vice president of marketing and programs at Visit Hattiesburg. “Not only does the event boost our local economy in a fun and flavorful way, but it also showcases the creativity and variety of Hattiesburg’s vibrant culinary scene.”
Examples of the week’s offerings include:
- Honey Bun Cake at Sugar Daddy’s Bakery
- Blackberry Cream Cheese Beignets at Mo-Bay Beignet Co.
- Stuffed Appleicious at Zelaya’s Bakery
- Old-Fashioned Apple Cobbler at Benson’s Steakhouse
- Chocolate Caramel Crunch Frozen Coffee and a Crème Brûlée Milkshake at Topher’s Burgers & Biscuits

“Hattiesburg’s front-line servers and back-of-the-house teams are truly some of the hardest workers in the industry, and we always enjoy partnering with them,” Visit Hattiesburg CEO Marlo Dorsey said. “In keeping with this year’s Sugar Rush theme, we’re excited to outfit them with HBURG aprons and share a little extra sweetness with diners — a Visit Hattiesburg measuring spoon to take home as a keepsake.”
Plans also include gift card giveaways on social media and custom items available at participating eateries. More details can be found here.
