Law enforcement authorities are investigating the death of a Grenada High School student.
The deceased has been identified as 16-year-old Ayden Reno. Police said Reno died Monday night in the area of Leigh Avenue, where a shooting had taken place, though the teenager’s passing has not been determined to have resulted from gunfire. An autopsy will determine the cause of death.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends, classmates, and teachers who are grieving during this incredibly difficult time,” a statement from the Grenada School District reads. “Counselors and support staff are available for students and staff who need someone to talk to. We encourage our community to lean on each other and hold close the memories that bring comfort and peace. May we find strength together and keep the family in our hearts.”
