Two juveniles have been arrested after a former Germantown High School student was shot and killed in Jackson last month.
“On October 2 and October 3, investigators with Capitol Police arrested two juvenile subjects and charged them with murder in connection to the homicide of 17-year-old Saleh Humaid that occurred on September 19, 2025, near Sunnyvale Drive in Jackson,” a Saturday night statement from the Mississippi Department of Public Safety reads.
The subjects’ names are not being released at this time due to them being under the age of 18. More charges are expected to be filed against the pair, according to DPS.
Humaid was in the area of Sunnyvale Drive and Sandlewood place – near McLeod Elementary School and a local soccer complex – when he was shot and killed around 9:25 p.m. on Sept. 19.
Humaid had previously been enrolled at Germantown High School, which is in Jackson suburb Gluckstadt, before withdrawing in early 2025, according to WLBT-TV.
