On Sunday afternoon, Steven Fisk became the second player in a row to find their first PGA TOUR victory at the Sanderson Farms Championship, following in the footsteps of Kevin Yu who did it in 2024 on the grounds of the Country Club of Jackson.
Fisk, a 28-year-old who played his college days at Georgia Southern but is now in the midst of his first year on the TOUR, came into the final round tied in second and two strokes off the lead. An impressive day that included birdies on three of his first five holes, birdies on each of his last three holes, and a career-low 8-under lifted him to a two-stroke victory over Garrick Higgo with a final score of 24-under.
“We all think we’re good enough to compete out here and win,” Fisk said afterward. “So, to come out here today and play like I did, I truly know now that I’m good enough to be a PGA TOUR winner…and that is really cool.”

Fisk’s 64 in the final round came on the heels of back-to-back 7-under 65s in rounds two and three. The rookie notably saw improvement on the greens, showing consistency throughout the weekend and ending the final round with a total of 144’8” made putts.
“I’ve struggled on the greens this year a lot and have been talking to my sports psychologist for a long time about putting,” he said. “He wanted me to read, ‘Putting Out of Your Mind’ by Dr. (Bob) Rotella. … It helped me focus on the right things. One chapter focused on being target-oriented, not worrying about anything else, and just believing that it’s going to be a good putt and have a chance to go in.”
Apparently, the book worked as Fisk had no putting yips on the way to his first victory since moving up from the Korn Ferry Tour last year. Finishing just behind him on the leaderboard were Higgo (-22/2), Rasmus Hojgaard (-19/T3), Vince Whaley (-19/T3), and Danny Walker (-19/T3).
Of the $6 million purse available for the 2025 Sanderson Farms Championship, Fisk won the grand price of $1.08 million. Here’s how everyone else’s pocketbooks fared.
