Police say they have identified a group of suspects after a bomb threat was made toward Southaven High School on Wednesday.
Around 8:30 a.m., the Southaven Police Department confirmed that the high school had been evacuated after the threat was made earlier in the morning, and all students had been moved to a safe location. As officers quickly worked to investigate, by 8:50 a.m., a picture of three individuals they believe were connected with the threat was released to the public. The picture showed the individuals walking into a convenience store.
At 9:50 a.m., the department announced that all three suspects had been identified, although no names or details on if they were arrested were immediately provided.
“The Southaven Police Department has identified the three suspects thanks to the help of our citizens,” the announcement reads. “The Southaven Police Department would like to thank our citizens for coming forward to make Southaven a safer city!”
Police added that all students at Southaven High School have been returned to class. The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office and the DeSoto County Board of Education are assisting in the ongoing investigation.
