A volunteer color guard instructor in Scott County has been arrested and charged for allegedly sending nude photos to a student.
The Forest Police Department announced Friday that Nichole Lara, 22, was taken into custody on Nov. 6 and charged with sexual battery, grooming, and child exploitation.
“The Forest Police Department is committed to protecting students and holding all parties accountable,” Police Chief Steven Bell said.
The release stated that the crimes spurred from a local band camp in July. A male student informed authorities that he had received inappropriate messages from Lara through Snapchat and later nude photos.
At the time, Lara was a volunteer color guard instructor with the Forest Municipal School District.
