Razor blades were discovered after having been shoved into loaves of bread at separate Walmart locations in Biloxi on Monday, but according to the supermarket chain, it’s not the first time that incidents of the kind have happened inside area stores.
Officers with the Biloxi Police Department were called to the Walmart Supercenter on CT Switzer Sr. Drive and the Walmart Neighborhood Market on Pass Road early Monday afternoon after customers complained about finding razor blades shoved into bread packaging. Store employees checked the shelves and found additional loaves that had been tampered with.
Walmart officials informed investigators that razor blades were previously found hidden in bakery items at the same locations on Dec. 5 and Dec. 7, according to reporting by WLOX-TV. The earlier instances, neither of which were reported to police, included loaves of bread and a banana nut muffin being tampered with.
On Tuesday afternoon, Biloxi PD released photos of a person of interest and asked the public for help identifying them.

“Throughout the course of the investigation, the Biloxi Police Department has reviewed video surveillance form the incidents and has identified a person of interest,” a press release noted. “If anyone knows this person, please contact the Biloxi Police Department.”
As of now, no injuries have been reported. Police believe the tampering occurred on the store floors, rather than in the back or at a warehouse. Customers are urged to check any recent purchases for sharp objects and report any tips to Biloxi PD at (228) 392-0641.
