No explosive devices were found at Grenada’s medical complex following a bomb threat.
Authorities were notified of the threat on Wednesday morning, with it reportedly being called in to the facility that houses the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s Family Medicine Clinic on Sunset Drive. Officials promptly evacuated the building and blocked off the area immediately surrounding the facility.

Law enforcement officers with the Grenada Police Department and Grenada County Sheriff’s Office, along with a local bomb unit and the Grenada Fire Department, responded to the scene. Multiple K-9 units from the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Tupelo Airport Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives were contacted for assistance, per a report from the Grenada Star.
After completing a sweep of the building, no explosives were discovered. Police reportedly investigated a potential suspect but have not announced any arrests. The incident will continue to be assessed by law enforcement.
