The Covington County Sheriff’s Office told WDAM-TV that Tracey Lynn Hanegan turned herself in to authorities on Monday. The 56-year-old is accused of going over to her neighbor’s house in Collins on New Year’s Eve and attacking the woman with a commercial stapler as part of a years-long dispute between the two.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was transported to a hospital and treated for several minor cuts and bruises.
Hanegan is facing charges of simple assault with injuries, willful trespassing, malicious mischief under $500, and disturbance of the family. She was released on a $3,000 bond.
