A reward of up to $20,000 is available for anyone who can give the FBI relevant information linked to the death of Ole Miss football player Corey Adams.
Adams, 18, was fatally gunned down at a pool party in the Memphis suburb of Cordova on July 19, 2025. The freshman defensive end from Louisiana was one of five to be struck by gunfire during the incident, but was the only one to succumb to injuries. Since then, no arrests have been made in the case, despite efforts by law enforcement to track down leads.
“I’m asking anybody to just help me get closure by getting justice for him. My son would do anything for me, and I can’t do anything else for him, being that he’s gone,” Chantrel Bernhardt, Adams’ mother, said in a July 2025 press conference. “He didn’t do anything wrong. My child was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and I just want justice for him.”
As a result of his passing, Adams missed a historic season for Ole Miss — one that ended in the semi-finals of the College Football Playoff, though his teammates wore a patch on their helmets in his honor. Ole Miss also held a moment of silence in Adams’ memory ahead of its 2025 home opener versus Georgia State. Edna Karr High School, where Adams graduated before going to Oxford, honored Bernhardt with a celebratory game ball after winning the state championship in December.
The FBI is urging anyone with information about Adams’ killing to call 1-800-225-5324 or Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-2274 to submit a tip with guarantees of anonymity.
