A deal to sell a pair of boots ending in gunfire in Gulfport, leaving two people hospitalized and a man facing felony charges.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that deputies arrested 49-year-old Eric Terrell Walker, of Gulfport, on two felony accounts of aggravated assault.
Sheriff Matt Haley said deputies responded to a report of an assault and possible shooting in the area of Robinson Road.
Investigators said the victims had gone to Walker’s residence to sell him a pair of boots. When they arrived, Walker allegedly exited his vehicle with a firearm and struck one of the victims in the head with the weapon. Walker is believed to have then fired the gun toward the victims’ vehicle, striking the second victim who was sitting inside.
Deputies later located Walker at his residence and took him into custody. Both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Walker was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Center and is being held on a $1 million bond.
