A man accused of killing his half-brother in Hattiesburg has been charged with first-degree murder.
Alexander Del Pilar Trujillo, 23, is said to have shot Da’Carmen Flores-Trujillo, 17, to death on Sunday evening. The Hattiesburg Police Department said the suspect was taken into custody in Jasper County days later, following a coordinated effort by multiple law enforcement agencies. According to authorities, detectives were able to narrow their search after receiving a tip regarding the suspect’s whereabouts.

“The Hattiesburg Police Department would like to thank the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the Forrest County Sheriff’s Office, and the U.S. Marshals Task Force for their assistance in the investigation and subsequent arrest,” a press release said.
Trujillo made his initial court appearance on Wednesday, where he was given a $750,000 bond and ordered to wear an ankle monitor if released. He is also ordered to avoid making contact with his half-brother’s family and cannot return to the crime scene as police continue to investigate this case.
