Former Ole Miss star A.J. Brown may be heading to the New England Patriots, according to a Monday morning report from ESPN.
Insider Adam Schefter reported the Philadelphia Eagles are open to trading Brown and that the Patriots “remain highly interested” in acquiring the three-time All-Pro receiver. Negotiations between the two teams are expected to ramp up around June 1.
The Eagles remain open to trading AJ Brown, the Patriots remain highly interested in acquiring the star receiver, and conversations are expected to resume shortly on or before June 1, likely culminating in a deal, per league sources.

June 1 is a key date on the NFL calendar because teams can spread remaining bonus money over two seasons instead of taking the full salary cap hit in one year. Brown’s contract carries a roughly $40 million cap implication that becomes easier to manage by waiting after June 1.
If the deal works out between Philadelphia and New England, Brown will be reunited with coach Mike Vrabel after the pair were together for three seasons with the Tennessee Titans from 2019 to 2021.
Brown was selected by Tennessee in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft and quickly became the team’s top receiver. He was traded to Philadelphia in 2022 and won a Super Bowl with the team two years later. His professional stats include 524 catches for 8,029 yards with 56 touchdowns.
Brown, a graduate of Starkville High School, played at Ole Miss from 2016 to 2018 and was named to the All-SEC first team in his sophomore and junior campaigns.
