Cheap movie tickets with proceeds going to a good cause. It doesn’t get much better than that.
Malco Theatres announced plans for another edition of its Midweek at Malco programming, which includes various Wednesday morning matinees throughout the summer. Tickets for the family-friendly movies cost just $3 each and benefit various children’s hospitals across the Mid-South, including Children’s of Mississippi in Jackson.
Participating Mississippi locations include DeSoto Cinema Grill in Southaven, Oxford Commons Cinema Grill, Tupelo Commons Cinema Grill, Corinth Cinema, Columbus Cinema, and Grandview Cinema in Madison.
Karen Melton, vice president of marketing for Malco, said Midweek at Malco gives parents with younger children an easy introduction to going to the movies, particularly with showtimes beginning at 10 a.m.
“The ever-popular annual event has been part of Malco’s summer calendar for over 30 years,” she explained. “For many parents, it’s an opportunity to introduce their children to the moviegoing experience.”
This summer’s Midweek at Malco schedule includes animated classics “Boss Baby” (June 3), “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie” (June 10), “Dog Man” (June 17), “Over the Hedge” (June 24), “Trolls: World Tour” (July 1), “The Bad Guys” (July 8), “Kung Fu Panda” (July 15), “The Bad Guys 2” (July 22), and “The Croods” (July 29).
“[Parents] look forward to sharing personal favorite films and making new memories to last a lifetime,” Melton continued. “One of the best parts of attending is knowing that a portion of each $3 ticket purchased benefits the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson.”
Various Malco locations in Tennessee, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Missouri are also participating. More information on this summer’s Midweek at Malco programming can be found here.
