An 18-wheeler was cooking up baked potatoes after catching fire along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Jackson County Fire protection crews responded to a semi-truck hauling potatoes that had caught ablaze at the 51-mile marker of Interstate 10 on Thursday around 9 a.m. Officials reported that, upon arrival, they spotted smoke coming the trailer of the vehicle.
The truck driver with a handy fire extinguisher reportedly had most of the blaze under control by the time first responders were able to get to work. Firefighters handled the rest of the damage control and cooled off the affected area.
Officials said a mechanical failure within the semi-truck caused the fire. No injuries were reported at the scene.
