An escaped detainee is back in custody, according to Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones.
Latoria Sample, who also goes by Shanterica Donelson, was being transported to the Raymond Detention Center on Friday morning when she escaped a deputy’s vehicle near Highway 18 and TV Road in Jackson.
Less than an hour later, she was found inside a vehicle at the nearby Woodlands Apartments.
“Thanks to all law enforcement agencies for the quick response and bringing resources to assist with the search,” Jones wrote on social media afterward.
Sample was arrested on May 15 and charged with receiving stolen property and business burglary. Jones said she will now face additional charges in connection with the escape.
