A child has passed away and five people were injured during a two-vehicle crash in Madison County over the weekend.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol confirms that the incident occurred on Saturday evening along MS-22. Officials say a Ford sedan traveling eastbound collided with a Chevrolet Impala. The driver of the Ford was identified as 31-year-old Mondoa Hervey and the operator of the Chevrolet was identified as 29-year-old Brittany Mack. There were four children in Mack’s vehicle, per authorities.
According to investigators, Mack and two of the children were transported by ambulance to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, while another child was airlifted to medical care. Hervey was also hospitalized, and a child was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation. No updates have been provided at this time.
