After a week filled with interviews, performances, and social events, this year’s title of Miss Mississippi has been awarded to Jane Granberry.
Granberry is the third Miss Capital City in a row to win the state pageant after Becky Williams did it in 2024 and Anna Leah Jolly in 2025. She received the crown and sash on Saturday night at the Vicksburg Convention Center following a high-ranking score from the judges during the preliminary round of the competition. She won several events, including the talent portion on Wednesday with a performance in jazz dance.
Granberry will represent the Magnolia State in this year’s Miss America competition in hopes of bringing the national title back to Mississippi for the fifth time in history. Miss America is scheduled for Aug. 28 through Sept. 6 in West Palm Beach, Fla.
As part of her duties as Miss Mississippi, Granberry will work to further her community service initiative called “Literacy Without Limits,” which aims to remove barriers and help more students learn how to read.
Granberry is a Hattiesburg native who attended the University of Mississippi, where she was a Rebelette on the dance team. Her win on Saturday night comes after placing as runner-up in 2024 and 2025 and winning Miss Mississippi’s Teen competition in 2019-20.
As for the other 37 contestants, numerous scholarships were distributed to the alternates and semifinalists. Rounding out the top five for Miss Mississippi 2026 were:
- Miss Starkville Morgan Nelson (first alternate)
- Miss Tupelo McKenzie Cox (second alternate)
- Miss University Cameron Davis (third alternate)
- Miss Metro Jackson Nataleigh Nix (fourth alternate)
As for this year’s Miss Mississippi’s Teen competition, which took place simultaneously in Vicksburg, the winner was Oxford native Madalyn Sullivan.
