The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency is continuing to assess damage from severe storms and flooding brought to the state last week by remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur. But as of Wednesday, nearly 250 homes and a dozen businesses across nine counties were reporting damage.

MEMA encourages residents who sustained property damage to file an insurance claim, take photos of the damage, and report it to their county and MEMA through the self-report digital tool. Victims with immediate, unmet needs are encouraged to contact their county emergency agency. A list of county emergency agency contacts can be found here.
For those who would like to donate to storm and flooding victims, the Old National Guard Armory on the State Fairgrounds in Jackson is open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is asking for buckets, bleach, rags, paper towels, mops, and other cleaning supplies. The Salvation Army has been assisting with a total of 600 cleanup kits distributed so far across Picayune, Wiggins, and Biloxi.
