A Lamar County man was found dead in a lake on Monday.
Stacey Graves was first reported missing at 9:40 p.m. on July 4 and was last seen leaving in his Jeep from a family barbecue, according to the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office.
Once Lamar County officials responded to the scene of the last sighting of Graves, they discovered his body and Jeep in a nearby lake.
“Sad to say we located the victim and his Jeep in a lake not far from where he was last heard from. Our hearts and prayers are with the family. Prayers also for all of the Lamar County personnel and departments who worked tirelessly to locate him,” the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post.
No other information regarding the circumstances of Graves’ death has been announced at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
