A 19-year-old man was killed and three other people were injured in an early Sunday morning shooting in Philadelphia, authorities said.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, officers responded to Walnut Street after receiving multiple calls reporting shots fired and indicating that several people had been struck by gunfire.
When officers arrived, they found the 19-year-old suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he later died. His identity was not immediately released.
Investigators determined that three other victims had been taken to area hospitals by private vehicles before officers arrived.
An adult woman who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg was transferred from an area hospital to a larger hospital in Jackson for additional treatment.
Two other victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries. One suffered a graze wound to the leg, while the other was treated for a graze wound to the arm. Both were treated and released from the hospital.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation as detectives continue gathering evidence and working to identify those responsible. No suspect information or arrests have been announced.
