The Ellis Theater is looking to raise money through two upcoming concerts with one of country music’s biggest names.
Officials at the theater in Philadelphia announced Monday that Lainey Wilson will perform twice on Tuesday, Oct. 20. Showtimes are set for 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. inside the 500-seat venue. Proceeds from the performances will go toward completing the Congress of Country Music, the museum and performing arts center connected to the Ellis Theater.
“Lainey Wilson is a vibrant performer who is blazing through the country music world today,” said Marty Stuart, a Country Music Hall of Famer who founded the Congress of Country Music in his hometown. “She’s authentic, she’s fearless, and she has become a touchstone figure to so many of her fans around the world. They trust Lainey with their hearts and stories.”
Since breaking onto the mainstream country music scene in 2021 with her first major-label album, “Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’,” Wilson has won a Grammy Award, 12 CMA Awards, and recorded nine No. 1 singles.
Some of her most popular songs include “Heart Like A Truck,” “Watermelon Moonshine,” and “4x4xU.”
A triple threat – singer, songwriter, and actor – Wilson appeared in season five of “Yellowstone” and most recently made her feature film debut in “Reminders of Him,” the 2026 adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel of the same name.
It will mark Wilson’s first performance at the Ellis Theater, which opened in 1927 and has recently welcomed artists such as Chris Stapleton, Dolly Parton, and Bobby Rush.
“Known for bringing unforgettable experiences to one of the country’s most intimate venues, the Ellis Theater continues to welcome some of the biggest names in music to downtown Philadelphia, Mississippi,” a press release said. “Wilson’s acoustic performances will give fans the chance to see her live in a setting unlike any other.”
Tickets for Lainey Wilson at the Ellis Theater go on sale Friday, Aug. 7, at 10 a.m.
