Things keep getting better for LEGO fans in Mississippi as the Magnolia State is set to get its first-ever Brick Convention.
Soon after Mississippians learned the state’s first LEGO Store was coming to Ridgeland, Brick Convention announced it would bring the event to Mississippi for the first time.
The self-proclaimed “greatest LEGO fan event on Earth” will be held in Jackson Sept. 26 and 27 at the Mississippi Trade Mart. Hours run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday – in three, three-hour sessions with an hour break in between – and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday – in two, three-hour sessions also separated by an hour break.
“Brick Convention brings all of the creative hands-on, minds-on fun of LEGO building and experiences together in one activity- and entertainment-packed family event for children of all ages and builders of all skills and interests,” Brick Convention officials wrote in a press release.

LEGO fans will have the opportunity to meet LEGO masters and see their creations spread around the venue, featuring original works as well as sets from familiar names like Star Wars and Marvel.
A plethora of vendors will sell rare minifigures, bricks, and even retired LEGO sets that haven’t been on shelves for years. Of course, there will also be normal vendors for fans who might want to bring a souvenir home without breaking the bank.
LEGO fans will also have the opportunity to create their own masterpieces at the Jackson Brick Convention with thousands of bricks at their disposal in one of the multiple Building Zones.
“Brick Convention is an event like none other. From spaceships, to cities, to castles, to landscapes, and more. There’s something for everyone to see. And then there is so much more. We have vendors selling anything and everything LEGO, LEGO artists to meet and gain inspiration from, and building zones with thousands of LEGO bricks to build with. Brick Convention is THE event for LEGO lovers. You can’t miss it!” Brick Convention founder and organizer Greyson Riley said.
Each Brick Convention across the country donates a portion of the proceeds to an all-volunteer nonprofit organization, and the Jackson convention is no exception. Build Smiles Foundation supports Brazilian orphans and buys new LEGO sets for underprivileged children worldwide during the holidays.
