Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad has partnered with the founder of Tupelo-headquartered law firm Mama Justice on a scholarship initiative.
Chambliss and Missy Wigginton have committed to a five-year, $225,000 scholarship. According to the duo, the scholarship will be divvied out into three $15,000 awards per year — one each in Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee. Mama Justice is funding this campaign as part of a name, image, and likeness agreement with Chambliss.
The scholarship is open to students enrolled at an SEC university in their state, or graduates of a high school in that state. Awards are used at an SEC university in the recipient’s own state: Ole Miss or Mississippi State; Alabama or Auburn; Tennessee or Vanderbilt. Applications will open here on Oct. 1, with the first three awards will being applied to the spring 2027 semester.
Prospective recipients are required to maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5, write an essay on overcoming adversity through faith and determination, demonstrate community involvement, and a produce letter of recommendation. Priority will be given to students with financial needs, first-generation college students, and students who have overcome significant adversity.
To promote the scholarship, a 60-second commercial will debut across markets in Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee as Ole Miss opens its 2026-27 football campaign versus Louisville in Nashville’s Nissan Stadium on Sunday.
The scholarship is administered by the Tupelo-based Create Foundation and managed through the Macon a Difference Foundation, an organization honoring the eldest son of Wigginton, Macon McKinney. After struggling with a battle with alcohol, McKinney died at age 25. The Macon a Difference Foundation was established in 2018 and has funded scholarships to Mississippi universities and trade schools since. The partnership with Chambliss marks the foundation’s largest-ever scholarship.
