A man passed away after an apparent drowning incident in Tishomingo County on Labor Day.
Officials confirmed that 44-year-old Steven Hopper drowned in Pickwick Lake after falling off a cliff and into the water. Hopper was reportedly swimming with friends at the lake and took an approximately 15-foot fall.
Authorities added that the incident happened around 6:30 p.m. near the Steel Bridge Boat Ramp. Witnesses at the scene told authorities that they did not see Hopper resurface after he fell into the water. His body was recovered roughly two hours later.
No arrests have been made, and authorities do not suspect foul play at this time.
