A crash involving a Mississippi school bus left 18 people injured.
Officials report that the wreck occurred on Tuesday around 3:15 p.m. An individual driving a Honda Civic is said to have pulled out in front of a Lowndes County School District bus traveling along Highway 45.
The collision reportedly knocked the bus over and ejected multiple children.
Police said there were 22 children on the bus, with ages ranging from 6 to 11, at the time of the crash. 16 of the children are reported to have sustained injuries.
One was airlifted from the scene to an Alabama hospital, while two others were taken to a Columbus hospital before being airlifted to Children’s of Mississippi in Jackson for further evaluation.
The bus driver and the driver of the Honda Civic were also hospitalized.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is currently investigating the crash.
