Huntington Bank will renovate its operations center and regional headquarters in Tupelo with an investment of more than $40 million.
The Ohio institution, which bought out Mississippi-headquartered Cadence Bank in 2025, announced that it will renovate its data and information processing operations center in Tupelo.
Officials said improvements include electric vehicle chargers, solar panels, upgrades to the facility’s water and elevator systems, and a new entrance. Productivity and lifestyle enhancements at the operations center will include a new fitness center, updated health center, and an on-site café, while renovations to the downtown location will feature a modernized branch, a community meeting space, and expanded parking.
“Before entering public service, I spent my career in finance, so I understand the importance of Huntington’s decision to invest more than $21 million in its Tupelo operations center,” Gov. Tate Reeves said. “Tupelo has a long history in the financial services industry, and this investment positions the facility to serve Huntington well into the future while helping ensure the city remains an important center for financial services.”
As is the case with many major economic development announcements in the state, the Mississippi Development Authority is assisting with site preparation and construction costs, along with support through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive program. The city of Tupelo and Lee County are also assisting with the project.
“MDA works to make sure companies have every reason to put capital to work in Mississippi, and this project does just that by bringing substantial private investment into an existing corporate operation in Tupelo,” MDA Executive Director PJ Waldrop said.
Huntington is a top 10 U.S. commercial bank serving consumers, businesses, corporations, municipalities, and other organizations across the Midwest, South, and Texas, with some businesses operating nationally. In February 2026, Huntington completed its partnership with Cadence Bank. The partnership expanded Huntington’s presence across Texas and the South, adding more than 390 branches and bringing Huntington’s total branch network to nearly 1,400 locations across 21 states.
Huntington expects to complete the Tupelo renovations by mid-2027.
