An Alabama woman is behind bars after allegedly using a peculiar weapon in an altercation with another woman in the Mississippi Pine Belt.
36-year-old Susan Sutherland Ahrens is accused of using a screwdriver to stab the unidentified victim in the head at a Columbia hotel over the weekend. On Sunday, police were dispatched to the Colonial Inn on Highway 13 following reports of an altercation occurring at the location.

The two women were reportedly fighting about power being turned off at a unit located within an undisclosed apartment complex. Ahrens is said to have stabbed the victim prior to law enforcement’s arrival at the scene.
According to a report from police, the screwdriver penetrated the victim’s skin, but did not reach the bone. She was taken to Marion General Hospital in Columbia and later released. Ahrens is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is being held on a $20,000 bond.
