The Perry County Sheriff’s Office is inserting a little humor into an unusual call Monday involving an alligator hanging out near the Food Stamp Offices in New Augusta.

The alligator reportedly became hostile with her potential captors before finally being brought in by Colby Pine, executive director of the Perry County Emergency Management Agency.

“She was taken out to the Pascagoula River and was released on her own recognizance and will appear later in court for disorderly conduct,” a Facebook post from the Perry County Sheriff’s Office reads.

This story will be updated following the alligator’s court date.
