Hundreds of anglers have convened in Biloxi for the 29th edition of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic.
The event, running until June 8, features hundreds of anglers from Texas to Florida hoping to reel in the biggest fish and cash in on a $2 million prize.
Fishermen will depart from Point Cadet Marina at 11 a.m. on Thursday. Weigh-ins for the tournament will be held on Friday and Saturday from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. The public is invited to come out and witness the fish caught by the pros as the sea creatures are being weighed.

An awards ceremony will be held at the Golden Nugget Casino and Hotel on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. In addition to the top-notch fishing that will be occurring, event planners are hopeful that the billfish classic will benefit the local economy.
