Another Mississippi inmate escapes, this time in Oktibbeha County

William Strohm (above) was serving one year for burglary prior to his escape

Another escaped inmate is on the run in Mississippi.

According to the Starkville Police Department and the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office, William Strohm of Memphis escaped the Oktibbeha County Jail on Sunday around 8:40 p.m.

Strohm, who was last seen running on Jackson Street at Martin Luther King Drive, is serving a one-year sentence on a burglary charge. That sentence is expected to be extended when taken back into custody.

Strohm is the second Mississippi inmate to escape in a week. Last Wednesday, Ryan Young escaped following a court appearance in Lauderdale County. He was last seen on Saturday night when he led police in Louisiana on a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle. After crashing, he fled on foot.

Anyone with information regarding either inmate’s whereabouts is asked to contact local law enforcement immediately.
