This years election is approaching quickly and here’s a guide on how you can vote absentee.
According to the Secretary of State website, some registered voters are eligible to vote absentee if they fall under one of these categories:
- If you will be away from your county on Election Day for any reason;
- If you are a student, teacher, or administrator at a school that would effect your absence from your county on Election Day;
- You have a temporary or permanent physical disability that makes you unable to vote in person;
- you are the parent, spouse, or dependent of a person with a temporary or permanent physical disability who is hospitalized outside of their county of residence or more than 50 miles away;
- you are 65 years of age or older;
- you are required to work on Election Day while the polls are open;
- you are a member, spouse, or dependent of the congressional delegation;
- you are a disabled war veteran (or spouse or dependent of such person) in a hospital;
- you are a member (or spouse or dependent of such person) of the American Red Cross or Merchant Marine
Absentee voting is now available in Mississippi and the deadline is October 31st at 5 P.M.

Election Day is November 3rd, 2020 and polls will be open from 7AM to 7 PM.
