Ole Miss football fans are in for a pregame treat ahead of the No. 13 Rebels’ matchup against No. 4 LSU on Saturday.
The Ole Miss Athletics Department announced on Thursday that a B-2 Spirit bomber will fly over Vaught-Hemingway Stadium before the 2:30 p.m. kickoff. The flyover will be led by the 509th Bomb Wing out of Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri — the same wing that bombed three Iranian nuclear sites over the summer, a source told SuperTalk Mississippi News.

As for the game itself, both squads will enter the matchup with a perfect 4-0 record. Ole Miss most recently took down Arkansas and Tulane, while LSU most recently defeated Florida and Southeastern Louisiana. Last year’s Magnolia Bowl battle between the Rebels and Tigers resulted in an overtime thriller that favored LSU, and largely derailed Ole Miss’ College Football Playoff hopes.
As starting Rebel quarterback Austin Simmons continues to nurse an ankle injury, Lane Kiffin is expected to trot promising backup Trinidad Chambliss out onto the field for the highly anticipated SEC showdown. Chambliss, a Division II transfer, has accounted for more than 900 total yards, six touchdowns, and no turnovers through two starts for the red and blue.
Saturday’s game will air on ABC and participating SuperTalk Mississippi stations.
