Two former hotel managers on the Mississippi Gulf Coast have been sentenced for a drug operation from their workplace.
54-year-old Pernell Robert Galloway and 42-year-old Cassie Louise McKenzie, who were employed at the Economy Inn in Bay St. Louis, sold methamphetamine from the hotel in 2023, court documents reveal.
Last June, agents conducted a search and found 14 grams of the concoction the duo sold in two separate bags, as well as a firearm, digital scales, and additional unused distribution baggies.
Galloway and McKenzie were indicted by a federal grand jury and they subsequently pled guilty to possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
Galloway was sentenced to nearly 11 years in prison and McKenzie was given 9.5 years behind bars.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Erica Rose is prosecuting the case.
