Mistletoe Marketplace is underway and thousands are flooding into the capital city to attend the annual Christmas event.

Mistletoe, in its 43rd year, will be welcoming holiday shoppers until Saturday at 5 p.m. with over 150 vendors, special events, auctions, and raffles.

Jackson resident Katie Seage said one of her favorite parts of the event is seeing what vendors from different parts of the nation have to offer.

“I really loved seeing all of the vendors coming from all areas, including places right in Jackson and across the southeast,” Seage explained. “There was this one booth I visited where both [vendors] were from New York City. I really liked seeing the diversity of all of the vendors that were selling stuff.”

Misteltoe Marketplace kicked off this year’s festivities on Thursday with general shopping leading into a formal gala that included auctions, specialty food and drinks, and entertainment.

Former Miss Mississippi contestant and Miss Red Hills 2022 Rachel Kang explained that this year was the first time she has attended the gala.

“It was amazing, I felt like I was at the Mississippi Oscars. Everyone was dressed to the nines and had such high spirits. It really is the best time of the year,” Kang said. “There was music and food and of course, all of the wonderful vendors. We got to go ahead and preview all of the shops for the year and it was just awesome to see everyone getting together and having a fun night.”

Other events that have already passed include Girls’ Night Out, Marketplace Brunch, and the Luncheon & Style Show featuring former NSYNC member Joey Fatone.

Although tickets are currently sold out for the Tween Fashion Show and Sugar Plum Tea Children’s Event, those still wishing to attend one of the special events at Mistletoe Marketplace can purchase tickets for the Nutcracker Bash on Friday night and Saturday’s raffle with the winner getting a brand new 2024 Honda HR-V LX.

General admission for the remainder of the shopping event is currently priced at $15 for adults, $5 for children ages six to 12, and $10 for seniors.

Mistletoe Marketplace will be open until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 3, and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 4.
