One Mississippi Gulf Coast man rang in the new year on a bad note.

The Biloxi Police Department reported that Joshua Ivan Crawford, 40, was apprehended following a standoff with law enforcement that lasted around five hours.

Officers on Sunday were sent to a residence on Woodland Hills Drive following a report of a domestic altercation.

Upon arrival, authorities claimed that a suspect, identified as Crawford, had barricaded himself inside the home. Crawford reportedly surrendered himself to police without incident in the early hours of Monday morning — just after the new year had begun.

Crawford is charged with aggravated domestic assault, convicted felon in possession of prohibited weapons, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Bond was denied for the suspect’s aggravated domestic assault charge due to Crawford being out on felony bond at the time of Sunday’s incident.

He was issued a collective $125,000 in bonds for the other two charges and later booked at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
