The Biloxi Shuckers announced new ownership Tuesday afternoon.

According to a release from the team, the Shuckers have been sold by Biloxi Baseball LLC and its managing partner Ken Young to Shuckers Baseball LLC, a Mississippi entity owned and operated by John Tracy.

“John Tracy brings extensive experience running successful businesses and a passion for the game,” Shuckers General Manager Hunter Reed said. “Our organization is excited to carry on the tradition of baseball in Biloxi with John, and we thank Ken for everything he did for our community and team.”

Tracy will take over a club that has an overall record of 496-445 since its inception in 2015. The Shuckers have appeared in three Southern League championships (2015, 2018, 2019) but have not been able to win a league title.

“Ken Young, Hunter Reed, and the Biloxi Shuckers have done an excellent job since they started in 2015, and we look forward to continuing that success,” Tracy said.

The new ownership is expected to bring additional capital and resources to the Mississippi Gulf Coast team while emphasizing the overall fan experience.

“We are eager to build on the customer experience and provide even more events at MGM Park for all ages,” Tracy continued.

The Shuckers, which are part of the Milwaukee Brewers organization, will begin the 2023 season on April 7.
