Blue Alert issued for suspect accused of shooting officer in Mississippi

Authorities have issued a Blue Alert for a suspect who is wanted in connection to an officer-involved shooting in Mound Bayou.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol issued the alert for Stanley Self, Jr., who allegedly shot a trooper in the arm on Tuesday around 7:05 a.m. on U.S. 61. The officer received non-life-threatening injuries.

Self, 23, is five feet and nine inches tall, weighs 165 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. According to authorities, he was last seen at Isaac Avenue at South Street and was wearing khaki pants and a white t-shirt.

The suspect is believed to be traveling in an unknown vehicle or on foot and is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Self is urged to contact 911 or the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation at (855) 642-5378.

MBI is offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to the location or arrest of the subject.
