Blue Mountain Christian University is the latest Mississippi college to alter its schedule due to the threat of severe winter weather.
Officials at Blue Mountain announced Thursday morning that all Friday classes will be moved to an online format. University offices will close Friday at 2 p.m. Classes on Monday and Tuesday will be online, as well, with university offices operating remotely.
Residential students are not required to leave campus as residence halls will remain open.
“The safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff are always our top priority. We appreciate everyone’s flexibility, patience, and care for one another during this time,” a statement from Blue Mountain reads.
Delta State University has also altered its schedule with in-person classes moving online beginning Thursday afternoon. The entire campus will be closed Friday with next week’s schedule to be decided on by officials over the weekend.
