Bordeaux in line to replace Smith as MSGOP chair

With the State Executive Committee planning to meet one week from today in order to select a new GOP chair, both the current chairman, Lucien Smith, and Governor Tate Reeves have endorsed the same candidate—Frank Bordeaux.

Bordeaux, who most recently served on the commission responsible for selecting a new state flag, is vice president of an insurance company in Gulfport and was Reeves’ Harrison County chairman during the most recent gubernatorial campaign.

Today, both Smith and Bordeaux hopped on The Gallo Show to talk about what they envision for the Republican party in Mississippi and how Bordeaux plans to achieve those goals if and when the State Executive Committee selects him as the party’s chairman.

Going into the November 3rd election, both the Democratic and Republican parties will have new chairs as Judge Tyree Irving was selected to lead the Mississippi Democratic Party back in July.
