One of Mississippi’s premiere music venues, the Brandon Amphitheater, will soon host its 100th show after officially opening to performers and the public in April 2018.
“This milestone is a testament to the vision our city had for creating a first-class entertainment venue right here in Rankin County,” Brandon Mayor Butch Lee said. “The Brandon Amphitheater has not only brought world-class entertainment to our community, but it’s also driven real economic growth and made Brandon a destination city.”

Since opening, artists such as Chris Stapleton, Imagine Dragons, Lana Del Rey, James Taylor, Kenny Chesney, Dave Matthews Band, and Willie Nelson have helped draw in an annual count of 85,000 people. The facility also hosts large community events such as Freedom Fest, Jubilee Days, and Magic of Lights.
According to officials, current projections show the Brandon Amphitheater will generate over $100 million in economic activity by 2028. Increased sales tax revenue and visitor spending have spurred development within the city, including new restaurants, hotels, and other businesses deciding to open shop near the venue.
“It’s been an honor to work with the city of Brandon on the Brandon Amphitheater over the last nine years,” said Jay Wilson, who works for Live Nation and has helped plan music acts since before the amphitheater even opened. “From its inception to now booking some of the biggest names in entertainment, we could not be more thrilled that Brandon has become a beacon for live music in central Mississippi.”
The Brandon Amphitheater has a capacity of over 7,000 people, two large concession areas, and a VIP club for those willing to spend a bit extra on tickets.
Taking the stage for the 100th show will be Texas-based band Treaty Oak Revival this Saturday. The new-age country group is best known for songs like “Missed Call,” “No Vacancy,” and “Ode to Bourbon.” This summer’s lineup Rick Springfield (May 31), Hank Williams, Jr. (June 6), and Rod Stewart (Aug. 5) to name a few.
