A camper fire has claimed the life of a man in Rankin County.
The fire took place at a home on Barker Road Tuesday morning. According to authorities, a 64-year-old man passed away. The unidentified man was able to exit the camper but did not survive.
Experts believe the cause of death is smoke inhalation. No foul play is suspected in the fire.
The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office’s fire investigator is working alongside the State Fire Marshal’s Office in looking into the fatal incident.
