Ole Miss will open this weekend’s series versus Evansville with a Friday doubleheader due to expected inclement weather in the Oxford area.
The National Weather Service forecasts showers in the region starting Friday night and rolling through at least Tuesday. Looking to get at least two games in, Ole Miss will play game one of the series at 3 p.m., with the first pitch for the second matchup occurring 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first contest. Both games will be nine innings
Officials with the Ole Miss Athletics Department confirmed that tickets and parking for Friday’s game will be honored for game one of the doubleheader. Tickets for the originally scheduled Saturday game will be honored for game two of the doubleheader. If fans intend to leave between games, they will be required to use Saturday’s parking for game two.
“Ticket holders will use their current tickets for the rescheduled game times. New tickets will not be issued. All-in-one season tickets will not automatically update in your wallet between games,” an official statement from Ole Miss Athletics reads. “You will need to sign into your account from your mobile device on the Ole Miss Sports App or olemisstix.com to re-add game two to your mobile wallet.”
At this time, officials from both Ole Miss and Evansville are monitoring the weather to determine when game three will be played.
On the baseball side of things, Ole Miss (12-2) will look to keep the ship moving in the right direction in its non-conference series finale. Mike Bianco’s Rebels bounced back from a rough stint in the Bruce Bolt College Classic by winning midweek matchups versus Memphis and North Alabama.
