A man is accused of stabbing his mother multiple times in Clarke County.
First reported by WLBT, Clarke County Sheriff Anthony Chancelor claims Dennis Gates Jr., attacked his mother early Wednesday morning at a home south of DeSoto on Highway 145.
Police took Gates into custody at the scene. His mother – whose identity is being withheld at this time – was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Her current condition is unknown.
Charges against the suspect have yet to be announced by law enforcement as authorities continue to investigate the incident.
