Jones won the first game on Saturday, 7-3, to force a winner-take-all game that the Lady Wolves took 6-4.
A solo home run off the bat of Avery Williams in the bottom of the second made for an early lead. Co-Lin then added another in the bottom of the third as Williams hit a sacrifice fly to make the score 2-0.
Two more runs were added by the Lady Wolves in the bottom of the fifth when Olivia Banes scored on a fielder’s choice followed by an RBI single by Madison native Morgan Chisolm.
The Bobcats weren’t done, though, as they scored three runs in the top of the sixth to cut the lead to one.
The Lady Wolves responded with two more runs of their own on a Taylor Efferson single. Jones would plate one more, but the comeback efforts were cut short by a stout defensive performance by Co-Lin.
Co-Lin totaled eight hits on the way to the title, with Morgan Chisolm and Carson Hughey leading the way with two apiece. In her final start before heading to a four-year university, pitcher Emily Richarde allowed four runs on nine hits but did enough to improve her season record to 22-1.
Finishing the season with a 48-6 mark, a record-breaking 27-1 in MACCC play, a conference championship, and now a national championship, the 2025 season for Co-Lin was one that will go down in history.
