Monday is Presidents’ Day, and if you’re off work and on the Gulf Coast, you might want to think about spending the day fishing.

According to a new study from FishingBooker, coastal Mississippi is the third-best place to fish this Presidents’ Day.

“We continue our journey in coastal Mississippi. Its stretch of the Gulf shoreline is dubbed the ‘Secret Coast,’ alluding to its sheltered position between Alabama and Louisiana,” FishingBooker wrote. “But if you ask us, the nickname might as well have something to do with the bountiful fishery you’ll discover out here.”

With charter captains widely available in Biloxi, Gulfport, and Pass Christian, there are plenty of places to fish along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

The full list of the “9 Best Presidents’ Day Fishing Destinations” for 2023 can include:

  1. Hilton Head Island, SC

  4. Laredo, TX

  7. Saginaw Bay, MI
  8. Eugene, OR
  9. Del Norte County, CA
